Terms of Service

These terms explain how working with Plusto works: the free preview, hosting and support, custom work, payments and what each of us is responsible for. We have kept them in plain English. If anything is unclear, ask us before you sign up.

1. Who we are and when these terms apply

Plusto (“Plusto”, “we”, “us”) designs, builds, hosts and looks after websites. These terms apply when you ask us for a website preview, accept a quote, sign up for hosting and support, or ask us to do other work for you (“you” means you or the business you represent).

If you accept on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are allowed to do so. Your quote or invoice, and anything else we agree in writing, form part of the agreement together with these terms. If a quote says something different from these terms, the quote wins for that piece of work.

2. The free website preview

When you fill in the Build my website form, we may create a preview website for your business. The preview is free and there is no obligation to go ahead.

A preview may use AI-assisted text, sample images, a sample logo and services we assume from your type of business. It is a draft for you to look at, not finished work, and it may contain details you need to correct.

Until you sign up, the preview and its design stay ours. Please don’t copy it, publish it or hand it to someone else to rebuild. We may take a preview down if you decide not to go ahead.

3. What hosting and support includes

With our standard plan, the design of your website is free and you pay for hosting and support. What is included (for example hosting, security updates, basic changes and basic search engine optimisation) is described on our pricing page and in your quote at the time you sign up.

We only host websites that we build. Larger jobs such as new pages, custom layouts or new functionality are not part of basic changes. We charge for them by the hour or by quote, and we will tell you before we start.

4. Custom design and extra work

If you want a more customised design, extra functionality or a full rebuild, a once-off design fee applies, as shown on the pricing page or in your quote.

Your quote covers the work it describes. If you ask for more after that, it may cost more. We will tell you first, and we won’t start chargeable extra work until you have approved it in writing (email or WhatsApp is fine).

5. Included changes and extra work

Changes to the content of your existing website, such as text, photos, prices and opening hours, are included in your hosting and support plan. You can make many of these yourself in your website editor. For anything else, email us clear instructions and tell us which page you mean.

Your quote is based on the scope, brief and features we agreed when we issued it. Anything you ask for after that, such as new pages, features, functionality, integrations, design changes, product loading or extra rounds of revisions, may be extra work if it falls outside what we agreed. This applies whether you ask before we start, while we build, during review or after your website is live.

If we think a request is extra work, we will tell you that it may cost more and, where practical, give you a quote or estimate first. We won’t start chargeable extra work until you have approved the cost in writing (email or WhatsApp is fine), and we may ask for payment or a deposit upfront.

Extra work does not replace or delay payment of your original quote unless we agree otherwise in writing. If a new requirement means changing or rebuilding work we have already done, we may charge for the time that takes.

We may sometimes do a small extra request at no charge. That doesn’t make it part of your original scope, and it doesn’t mean we will do similar work free of charge in future.

6. Prices and payment

Prices on our website may be shown in your local currency based on the country you appear to be visiting from. The amount and currency on your quote or invoice is what applies.

Hosting and support is billed monthly or annually in advance, depending on the option you choose. Once-off fees are payable as set out in your quote. Taxes such as VAT are added where they apply, and you are responsible for your own bank, card or currency conversion charges.

If an invoice is overdue, we may pause work or suspend your website after letting you know, until the account is up to date. Suspension does not cancel what is owed.

7. Your content and responsibilities

You are responsible for the information, text, logos, photos and other material you send us, and for making sure you are allowed to use it. Please check your website before and after it goes live and tell us if anything is wrong.

If we are waiting on content, approvals or payment from you, timelines move accordingly. Please keep your contact details up to date and keep any passwords we give you safe.

Your website must follow our Acceptable Use Policy.

8. Ownership

Your own content (your text, photos, logo and business information) stays yours.

Once you have paid what is due, you may use the design and website we create for you for your business, as long as it stays hosted with us under your plan, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Our own tools, code, templates and methods remain ours, and third-party themes, plugins, fonts and images stay subject to their own licences.

Unless you ask us not to, we may show your website as an example of our work and include a small “website by Plusto” credit.

9. Moving your website elsewhere

If you want to move your website to another host, tell us in writing. Some parts of a website may be licensed only for use on our hosting, so replacement licences, preparation or migration fees may apply. We will tell you what applies before you decide. Outstanding amounts must be settled before a transfer.

10. Cancelling

You can ask to cancel your plan at any time by email. Cancelling stops future billing in line with your plan, but it does not refund work already done or periods already paid for, unless the law says otherwise or we agree in writing.

We may suspend or end our services if you seriously break these terms, don’t pay, use your website for unlawful purposes or abuse our team or systems. Where the law requires it, we will give you notice and a chance to put things right first.

11. What we can and can’t promise

We do our work with reasonable skill and care. We can’t guarantee search rankings, traffic, enquiries or sales, or that a website will never be unavailable. These depend on many things outside our control, including search engines and third-party services.

We take reasonable steps to keep websites we host secure and backed up, but no system is completely secure. Please keep your own copies of important business information.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or business, and our total liability for any piece of work is limited to the amount you paid us for it. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be excluded.

12. Things outside our control

Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control, such as major internet or power outages, failures of third-party providers, natural disasters or government action.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If something goes wrong, please talk to us first; we will try to resolve it fairly and quickly. This does not affect any right you have to approach a court, regulator or ombud.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply going forward and won’t change the agreed price of work you have already accepted.
